  • Lawn Tractor Linkage Repair

The linkage that controls the height of the front of the mower deck on my friendís church tractor, fell off. It got caught in the lawn and created a lever, which the tractor used to snap off the linkage at the necked down area of the shaft. My friend hunted around the lawn and found the long bent part of the linkage, but couldnít find the short threaded end. I replaced the missing part with the shaft portion of a 7/16Ē bolt. The bolt was zinc plated so I had to soak it in Hydrochloric acid (Muriatic acid) to remove the zinc before welding.
