  • Millermatic Warranty changes?

I thought I read somewhere on Miller's site that the warranty had changed beginning in 2006 on Millermatics...Anything made in 2006 would be warranted to original buyer only..the warranty would not transfer. I've went back and tried to find where i read that but I can't find it...Do any of you know anything about this? I might have dreamed it because I sure can't find it now.
    Thanks, Farris

Not sure if this is an actual change or not as I do not have any earlier versions.

Copied from the Miller Warranty available on the website at ....

Well I would ask the person selling it to me for the original receipt.

What if your father-in-law ( last name would be different ) bought it and gave it to you as a GIFT ?

          I know you'll say " Who keeps receipts? "

Well for an $1800 welder I sure do. In fact I keep receipts for most items that may need servicing in the future. At least as long as a warranty is involved.

I have a welding folder in my desk, all the reciepts for my equipment are in there. If I sell something the reciept goes along with it. A few years back when the Maxstar needed a new board I was not asked by anyone at Miller or the service center to provide the proof of purchase, just the serial number. A good thing too as I bought it on Ebay from a private seller, who BTW forgot who I was when the problem cropped up. Now I buy machines from my LWS, they always give me the best deal they can and if there is a problem down the road they take care of it.
