I've thought about changing my bottom die to one like yours only wider opening. Maybe 4", that way I could have pcs. of flat bar that just sit inside to make it any size opening. Very nice by the way.

Take a look at the press brake dies that Scotchman Iron Workers have to offer, I have a 12"er and a 18"er, I dont think they make the 18"er any more, They only offer 12" and 24" if I'm not mistaken.

The 12er has a smaller bottom die for tighter bends While the 18"er is better for bending 3/8" and 1/2"

I use mine in a 50 ton shop press and they work great.

They're a little pricy for a home hobby guy but we use ours on a regular basis, I want to get the 24"er just havent opened the check book yet.

I don't think that you could build one for this price unless you had your own mill to shape the die with.

Wow. That's bad ass. A great price for the specs. I can't build it for that.
