There is no such thing as scrap.... it's just stuff you haven't found a use for yet. Dave

Sure do. I have a '60s GMC truckbed trailer that I only put metal in.

I build a lot of stuff out of 'T' posts.

My dad's farm is almost out of old junk setting in the fence row

The back corner of my yard is scrap. I'd take a pic, but it would only depress me with how mangy it looks back there.

here is my scrap collection assembled into a shop. only had to buy the screws and a 5 gal pail of wood stain/sealer. and some welding wire to hold the frame together. man do i like to recycle.
my recycled shop, no floor yet or proper power. but its getting there and keeps me out of the rain when working on the truck/car.

I work across the street of a major scrap processor and the stuff i find on the way to work is so good. Just yesterday i stopped and picked up a cool light for a machine, it had a transformer and a welder plug also attached, package deal. And trash day is like a 40 mile yard give away ...Bob

Thats not really scrap, I do "scrapping" on the side and get lots of cast Iron and aluminum thats litterally scrap.

Smashed boilers and the such, I usually get about 3400-4000 lbs of cast iron per week for free so it isnt bad at all. Even though they only pay .09 per pound here, it pays for my gas and luch for the week, and I even got my biggest client out of it, repairing scrap Iron roll off dumpsters....

                            1. Previously used stock = Answer to question that has not been asked yet.

                            2. The difference between “Previously used stock” and “scrap” is directly proportional to storage space on hand.

                            3. Wives cannot differentiate “Previously used material” from trash. Use the cover of darkness or misdirection when storing found materials.

                              scrap

Yeah I pick up scrap from people all the time. Some of it I use to build things, some of it just goes into a large and growing pile behind the shop that needs to be hauled off to the dealer. We've also got alot of old equipment laying around at work that we are gonna cut up and sell for scrap, there is a wonderful money-making opportunity in selling and recycling scrap iron. We hope to have all of it hauled to Enid and sold by the time I ship to Recruit Training Command on July 11.
