  • Wonder why steel prices are so high?

This should help answer some questions as to why metals prices are so high in the U.S.

This applies not only to China, but also to Japan and Korea.

Think about this the next time you drop some cash at one of our fine tool importers. The screwdriver you purchase might be the old Jeep you used to drive.

Sorry about the link. Don't know what the problem is. Could be because the article is a couple of years old, but what it states still applies.

If anyone is interested in reading the full article, Google "Steel exports to China" and click on the NY Times article link.

It's basically economics 101 and we are on the wrong end of the equation.
