...don't give them out is because they are ENGINEERED for the job. Trusses for one job MAY not work on another. It isnt like just plain old roof rafters. The word trusses implies a hole other ball game.

I am wanting to build random length of up to 20' , and set them to the side I figure out what length the customer wants then I will cut to the Slope and notch the ends. Correct me if Im wrong..... Use the same 20' for the lean to of the sides .I think I could make few bucks with this in alabama.
I needed ten 40 footers for my shop.I ended up buying them for $2200.00, dipped in black tar and delivered to my shop. Aint no way I would build them for that price. Although the welds looked like a drunk monkey welded them.

well I got suckered into joining the barn forum. Thinking there was a lot of posters and a good discussion, I joined. It looked like a typical limited guest forum with full featured member access. Well don't bother. there isn't any discussion.
As Dough Boy Racer said, Trusses are engineered for applications, You need to know what centers they are designed for, what part of the country, Whats your snow load, do they need X bacing if so how often, how much bridging.
Steel trusses have tags on the ends that give all the information and who built them.
