when i did that 65 gto conv resto, i replaced the hood due to rust in the nose..

i took my zip wheel and cut out the old 65 scoop section and sold it on ebay for 150.00 and trashed the rest of the hood.

    5-6 people wanted it too!

just the scoop part with 2in of meat going around it.

    crazy, huh?

That scoop means the difference between a Lemans hood and a gto hood.......both of which are getting harder to find clean rust free examples of. I'm a big fan of saving stuff like that myself.........that's why I've got a pole building filled to the gills with crap I'll probably never use or need.......till right after iI get rid of it lol Jim

i always spray primer on bondo at the end of the day so water doesnt soak into it.

i sanded that back off,, used a thin bondo to bondo the bondo and a powered guide coat,, again sanded off by hand.

now its ready for the primer and ill blend the paints together on that panel, after that, i clear coat the entire panel.
