First off thanks Miller for the tape! A customer brought by a project that may require its use ...WOW six broken crossmembers and about ten feet of worn-out floor.

This one isn`t going too bad yet , but who knows? The only thing I could do without is the tar under the floor that has to be removed in order to get a satisfactory weld! Asphalt trucks are filthy underneath to say the least.

Thanks Garth. The bright spot to this is that the new floor and crossmembers should weld up pretty well. It`s usually a challange to get origional crossmembers clean enough to weld up .

Eight more hours, one more blister, one less grinder!
The first day is such a drastic change it seems like all kinds of progress is being made, but then comes the slow grunt work with the grinder(may it rest in peace).

Yes Dan it is from the Buckeye State, we are about 40 miles east of Columbus, and the recently deceased grinder was a Dewalt Dw400.

I knew the 400 was too light duty for what I get into, but I put off getting a replacement. After the fatality I rushed to the local box store and picked up two DW28402`s to fill the void.

                            Grinders .

I have found that Metabo's last good , their W7-115 Quick is a good grinder. thats all I use , it has taken everything I have thrown at it . if you get a chance try one . Dan
