How heavy is it and what are you hanging it from.

          Wheelchair,
I am guessing 45-50lb. It is hung from a double 2X6.

Very nice! After using TIG for aluminum, it is hard for me to understand using MIG as an alternative. Your results back me up on that!

I like it. Once again it proves that the AC arc makes a BIG difference when welding aluminum; burning off the oxide giving a cleaner and stronger weld!

That doesn't look like a "Genesis" to me!! Yeah I did a lot of MIG on aluminum at East Mfg. but it has it's places. Myself I'd have TIGged the porch swing project too. However I do want to get set up to MIG aluminum so I can work on those aluminum dump and flatbed trailers as well as making some aluminum car, bike and landscape trailers too. Everyone is making them out of steel, not too many are making them out of aluminum from what I've seen.

Awesome porch swing. Let me ask you a question though. When you're sitting in it with the missus does she appreciate all the time and effort you put into it? Or is she like a lot of women would have been just as happy with a store bought one? I know my mom would have treasured it, but my ex's would haven't cared one bit that I made it.

Sometimes it's not whether the "better half" appreciates it, but whether we are happy with it or not that matters.

                        Blondie_486,
She likes it, she does not have to take it down in the winter or paint it.

I have one of those cheap Chinese porch swings Wal-mart had on sale and the upholstery is dang near structural and is ripping/rotting out now.
I may have to whip up something on that order... because now my ole lady seen yours!!
