  • It's A Boy? Maybe?

It was too nice a day to clean the garage,
so instead, I made this fella. except for the ribs
and the, um, hoo-hoo, he's all out of parts of an
old cast-iron stove that I saved from being turned
into Toyotas... The block in the center is about
1" thick, more-or-less solid cast iron -- it was
to heat hot water from the stove. Everything
else is pretty thin section -- probably aout 1/8"
so he's not too sturdy. That's why he's leaning
against a board. (8"wide, btw, for scale)

All welding was AC (that's all I have for stick) Forney
Ni rod from the H/w store. Was about 150a +/-.
The rod was expensive ($20 for 10, I think?)
but it's worth it for CI. My previous experiments
trying to Mig CI with plain steel wire were, um,
not as successful as I'd hoped I guess the experts
really do know what they're talking about :-)
