As a 30 year carrier letter carrier, you should ask the carrier
The box is to be located at my Dads lake house, I am not sure but I think with my Dads diet, that the mail carrier probably gets more smacks then good old Dad. He plans on asking the next time they see the carrier. Its pretty laid back down there so it shouldn't be a problem.
One of the reasons for making the new box is that they receive there meds in the mail mostly, and a standard box just isn't big enough sometimes. Hopefully this will make it so all the mail fits and the carrier does not have to leave a note or ring the bell. Without going out and checking I believe that I made it 13 wide and 20 deep by 11 tall. That should fit lots of pills.
Maybe you can tell me if this is true or not, I heard it from a friend.
That the carrier's job is to deliver the mail, and that mail pickup (outgoing ) mail is a courtesy of the carrier.
