  • Chaise Lounge Chair

Just finnished this lounge chair. I made it with 1.5" .065 wall square tube. The bottom rail is 1" .065 wall round tube. I covered the frame with flat expanded metal. The back adjusts to 4 positions plus flat. The pad should be ready in 2 weeks. Don't pay attention to the Brand-X welding equip in some of the pics. It was purchased before I saw the light. All my equip since has been BLUE.

Nice job. Don't worry about the color of your equipment as long as it gets the job done. By the way, Hobart and Miller are both part of the same company if it makes you feel better.

Thanks cosmosuave. The ones we were looking at ran around $800 to $1500. I have $150 in steel and hardware and $150 to powder coat it. The real expense is a good pad. The custom pad I ordered was $375. I guess I should have taken a sewing class in High School instead of Metal Shop. It was a fun project to do. I got a little TIG experience in.

Easy takes all the fun out of it M.K. I'm one of those idiots who refuses to buy something nice for $50 when I can make it myself for $100 plus my time.

I used Glendale Powder Coat. I've used them several times and they have been very reasonable. They told me the cost was in all the expanded metal I used for the seat and back. I'll definately shop their price next time.
