    Black smithing I would like to find someone locally in my area to teach me how to black smith any help would be great

    Hey glad to see you sticking with it, one word of advice though don't wear a glove on your hammer hand. Thats a good way to loose the hammer and hurt yourself, plus you will have much better feel and control without it.

    it goes in like a 2x4 . Yeah the tongs are 18'inches

    WOW! Nice job! Like to see it hooked up together?! or does it go on a piece of wood? When you said tongs, I was looking for something longer, that you would use to take other metal out of the furnace?

    What size tongs did you make? did you forge the rivet or bolt them or use a pre-made rivet? just curious
