  • good find or junk?

ok found this on craigs list and was wonderin if it would be worth to pick up for scrap or to take to the salvage yard. i dont have a plasma to cut it with but do have access to a cutting torch. i would like to use it for scrap but not shure if would be able to or not because have to be able to get somethin to cut it with.

I don't know how it is in your state on cars without titles if you take it in whole you may have a problem. You could cut it up in pieces with a torch but that may be a mess also with the seam sealers and undercoating if any. It might be alot of work for the 50 bucks it brings, but i have done stuff like that for less ...Bob

yeh didnt think about title stuff. will have to look into it. i cant believe i forgot that i could cut it with a stick welder though as long as its not to thick. i would have to get some more 6011 cause thats what i like usin for cuttin if i were to do that. thanks for reply

        worth it?

I don't know the rates for scrap in your area, but down here in Fl. they are only paying $1.00 per hundred pounds. If it was up to me I would pass on it unless you got a lot of scrap to take with it. Dave

yeh didnt figture it would be worth the effort. just lookin for scrap for practice. wish it wasnt wrecked and possibly stolen and stripped then it would be worth somethin. thanks for ur replys

plenty of sheetmetal to practise on if you wanted to but even as scrap metal as just the outer skin and frame there is not likely to be much wait to get you any $$. you can get about $80-150 for a car here but it all depends on the junk yard you take it to and the wait of the car.
probly mor truble than its werth.

I am not sure about the item you guys are talking about it seams to have been removed from the list, any it sounds like you may be talking about a car,
and they are selling for 6.00 a hundred here in TN, at the local foundry.

for those that did not get to see the pic's, it was a verry well striped car shell/unibody. i would suspect no more than 500lbs at best. no door's, seats axels, drive train, engen, nothing but the front fenders, roof, back fenders and the floorboards. and what would be considerd the frame but in those its realy not much at all,16 gage if your lucky.
