  • First post : trailer question

    Hi everyone !

I've made this little trailer to haul a Honda VTX 1300.... and I found it a little "weak". Here's the pics :

A senior member help me and now, that's the result :

    All the frame is angle 2X2 - 3/16... Tongue and Center cross member "C" 1X2 - 3/16... Center tongue angle 2X2 - 3/16.
    TIG welded all around.

    What do you think ?

looks like u did a good job of reinforcing the bed. it looked quite weak in the first couple of pics. good job, looks great. may be next time instead of angle iron use all box tubing it will be even stronger yet.

Yep definite improvement on the last two pics, looks pretty strong. My hat is off to a man who TIG welds a whole trailer, I always wanted to do that but never had the time.

I know, that's the first and last time that I use angle iron. I like my trailers...overbuilt !!!

Your choice of angle is wrong, I know, I did the same mistake.
Get a piece of 8" channel for the center and bolt/weld it to your frame and you will love your trailer.

Are those road tires? They look like something off a lawn mower.
