  • Cast Iron Milling Machine table repair.

This is a pretty common break on old milling machine tables. I fitted a chunk of copper bar under the tee slot to save machining later then i stick welded it with some 5/32 Viking Metals machinable cast rod i got cheap off ebay, wrapped it up in some insulation and let it sit a spell. It should clean up nice....Bob

      Hey Bob,
saw all your pics off your photo show...SWEET!!! 'Far as this table, top can be grinded down normally, but how will you grind down the sides to match the rest of it?

Could you post a picture of the rest of the machine? You did a really nice job. I may have used nickle rods if this is really cast iron, just a thought.

Here is a pic of the whole machine. I just welded it for the owner and he is going to have it reground. Internet welding job . I used cast iron welding rods that are 100% machinable and the color should match pretty good...Bob
