  • Band Saw Blades

I am looking into blades for my new Grizzly saw (G9742) and am leaning towards bi-metal 10/14 variable pitch variety. Most of what I cut is in the 1/16 - 1/4 range. Does this seem reasonable?

Also, if anyone knows of a good online source for blades please pass it along. I was looking at J&L but they seem pricey to me.

      Bandsaw Blades

I cut metal about the same size and I also use the 10/14 variable pitch blades. They work well for me. I get mine at ENCO.

Here is some information on bandsaw blades that may be useful. It is from Ellis but is general in nature. The second question under their FAQ's section, and the only one I always remember is the "never less than three teeth in the work part". If I remember correctly a finer tooth blade will last longer, just cut slower. My blades come from McMaster or locally a shop makes up Lennox blades.

This answer may come very late, but I am passing the good words. I got quality blades for affordable prices at www.sawblade.com . Very helpful and knwoledgeable sales staff.
