            Or, I dunno, you could grind the galvi off the steel before welding.

              as stated it can be welded (excepting GTAW), soldered, or brazed.

              Bretsk2500,
              poisoning is a bit strong, let's keep it to Zn sickness, you're gonna get sick, not die. (please, no PawPaw references, extenuating circumstances lead to his demise)

                it may be a bit strong, but that is precisely what it is, poisoning. I have no pawpaw references, but I did manage to give my self zinc chills once when I was much younger welding on a bunch of old galvanized fence posts. I try to be more careful now.

                  If you use proper precautions, you won't get "sick"
                  Don't minimize the danger that welding galvanized metal can cause!
                  I agree with Bretsk2500 it IS poisoning!
