  • Incorrect Press Brake Die

I'm buying a brand new press brake and ordered a goose neck punch to go with it, I told the guy who makes them that I wanted one to bend 1/4" material, once I started investigating ( Looking in their brochure ) , it says the rated capacity for the G-9 gooseneck punch is 9 ga., when I questioned him about this he said that it will do 1/4" and that I dont need to be worried, !!!!!!! I'm a little concerned.

Any one here use a G-9 to bend 1/4"

9 ga is like 3/16. The 1/4" die would have a bigger nose radius from what I remember of them...Bob

aametalmaster... I'm worried more about bending the punch more so than it hurting the tip.
