  • Need Help buying Sycrowave 250 dx

Hi Folks I have the chance to buy a 250 DX( 16 hours on machine) it's equipped with a coolin system and one as new also with no cooler. But was wondering if cooling system would be a pain in the butt ,cause my shop(garage is not heated in winter) when not in use and here in Canada it can get cold as you know...

What's your advice and thanks for reading.......AG

    TIG coolant usually contains antifreeze...

so your cold winters should not be a problem...

Seems a bit expensive... normally see them in the $2500 and below range here...

but if it is exceptionally nice..?? maybe...

could you post the serial number so we can tell you how old it is..??

unlikely.... but it may still be under warrantee...

On coolant.... if there are no warrantee issues... a lot of guys are running RV antifreeze.... it does NOT have the stop leak or other additives that most of the regular car/truck antifreeze has.... that tends to plug/clog torch body, pump and other tight passages..

RV coolant won't work, due to the alcohol content. Does it really get all that cold in New Brunswick anyways. Humidy yes, so lots of snow, but cold?

                Cruizer

you are right... the Walmart stuff NOW contains Alcohol...(ethanol/methanol)
                it never used to..
                they have changed the formulation..

                http://ops.americanamb.com/1101MSDS/...Antifreeze.pdf

Many other brands of RV & Marine Antifreeze do not... so better to check the MSDS.. first
the good ones are pretty much just Propylene Glycol and water,,
