I haven't used a 350. I had a diversion 180, and a Dialarc HF 250. Now I have a Dynasty 280DX. I've found true love. After a brief issue with the controls being smarter than me. I've figured out how to dial it in. I believe the Dynasty to be the best welder ever built. 280 is more easily portable, 350 has one more feature; amplitude. There are a couple of guys here better qualified than I to explain. Lets say if you want to enjoy welding, get a 280 or 350 DX, you won't regret it.
An analogy would be to see the Diversion as a Model T Ford, The bigger Dynasty as a Ferrari.
The Diversion is square wave no hi freq. In AC it is 120HZ, 72% Electrode negative. Its duty cycle can be just over 10%. It seems always over extended. If these fixed values don't fit your weld, live with it!
The Dynasty ads Hi frequency starts to better establish an arc, and a bunch of other controls to tailor output to the task. I love it!
