  • aluminum mig welding

I have a Miller CP 200 Mig welder and need to know if I can weld aluminum with it? I have argon gas and a roll of 4043 aluminum but I can't make a nice looking weld. Do I have to change the cables around or change something else on the welding machine?

Do you need a spool gun with that machine?

Read the last post here: http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=10372

Are you using 3-phase to run the machine?

All I have is the standard mig gun with a nylon liner.
      The machine is 3-phase.

Got it setup and running great. I found a used SP-9 gun and now have a starting point for the voltage and wire speed settings for .250 and .060 material.
