  • Which Suitcase for XMT304

I recently purchased my XMT304 CC/CV and am looking to add either the 12vs or the 12rc Suitcase feeder. Is there a difference between them as far as welding characteristics? This unit is just for my home projects, nothing structural or code. I like the 12vs because it does not need a control cable but some people have said that the arc is different. Which feeder would be better for my application. Thanks, Chris

I have both and personally like the rc but It can be limiting with the remote cable. Really cant go wrong. Both wonderful machines.

Thanks for the reply, the machine still has to be wired in but that will give me time to save up for one or the other. I did manage to find 2-25' miller extension cables at my local surplus store so if a 12rc pops up I'll be able to run it.

I have a XMT with a S-22p-12 feeder which is a RC Remote control, You will want to get a voltage control that they dont always come with, That way you can adjust the heat and wire speed on the feeder itself verses walking back to the machine.

Look for a Miller 22a feeder. You will be out much less money and will work better for a shop based piece of equipment.
