    Lincoln Superglaze 4047

Has anyone used Lincoln's 4047 aluminum wire? Suppose to increase silicon , minimize hot crack and higher shear strength than 4043. Just wondered if it could be possibly used in a 211w spoolgun since it can't run 5356 well.

I don't say it can't be done but I think I read somewhere else that 5356 needs more current than the 211 can continuously deliver.----Meltedmetal
Perhaps it is this article. http://www.millerwelds.com/resources...cess-at-Home-/

I don't know when the article was written, but it it does burn hotter and faster, so more skill is involved. The article does recommend the use of 5356 for a stronger weld and corrosion resistance, and I can tell you that you would want to use 5356 for a better anodize color match. Personally I only use 5356, so experience does help.
