    They truly are both very easy my guess is 7018 and the real key is keeping a tight arc length. It is exactly like welding in the flat don't over think it biggest mistake students make ..... Good luck!!

      Keep as tight arc as you can with 7018. Put on leather so you aren't worried about burning yourself and just focus on the weld

        Keep your arc tight and your rod straight up no angle at least that's what I just learned at school just graduated so good luck
