  • Post flow set to Auto

I have a maxstar 350. The post flow is set to auto. How does it determine how long to kee the gas flowing before it turns it off?

Pretty sure it's a function of amps and torch on time.

      Post flow set to Auto

POST FLOW [POST] - If the TIG process is active (see Section 5-7), use control to set length of time gas flows after welding stops.
AUTO POST FLOW - Creates a post flow time scaled at 1 second per 10 amps of the peak weld amperage for a given weld cycle. Auto post flow is limited to a 8 second minimum, or to the maximum preset post flow time.
      Application:
Postflow is required to cool tungsten and weld, and to prevent contamination of tungsten and weld. Increase postflow time if tungsten or weld are dark in ap- pearance.
