  • millermatic 140 problems

Hello. I have a millermatic 140 running .030 wire. Every now and then the wire will arc in the machine. Right between the drive wheel and the liner. The wire shorts, burns and crinkles up. Anybody know what's going on?

Drive is too tight and/or the spool brake is too tight. wire should curl up nicely in the palm of your hand. without slipping, then the tension is just right.

Or you've cut the liner for some reason at the machine end of the gun
