welding cast on the bosses tractor

Have'nt seen it yet,I've been told it is a late 50's john deere, according to them it is the front steering assemlby or that area that was broken when it was being "PULLED" out of the mud.I guess I am going to have to see it to make a determination as to the extent of the damage. From what I have been told it is going to be a challange, however it belongs to the 80 year old owner and was his first piece of equipment that started his business.I guess I would rather be the guy to fix it rather than the one who broke it !!

            Saw the same thing.

Picture this; A pull trailer (back trailer of an 18 wheeler) load with 25000 lbs. of cucumbers is stuck in the mud. An International Hydro 100 pulling said trailer is to lite to pull the trailer out of the mud.
So a D5 Cat was chained to the front of the Hydro 100. The D5 pulled the Hydro 100in two, broke right at the flywheel housing.
            Stuff happens.
            Good Luck,
            Bob

Seems like it should have been obvious the Corn Binder was the weak link in the chain. The other two outweighed it by a whole bunch.
