  • cutting angles in steel

    What do you guys use to accurately cut angles in steel? Especially angles over 45 deg.
    mm251 w/ 30amp spool gun
    diversion 165
    mm140
    Hypertherm powermax 45

      Mostly use a 9" angle especially when the angle or piece of steel is to large
      for the cut off saw. Use OA on heavy pieces.

            cutting pre-bent tubing

            Sorry for the little bit of a hijack.

            I don't have room right now for a big vertical band saw. Is there anything similar that can cut right along the radius of a tube? Keep in mind that I mostly get 180 degree j bends, and unless I'm cutting exact 90 degrees, I start running the risk of hitting the 'back leg' so to speak.

            For exhaust system you want to make sure you don't cheat the bend (at least in theory) so its nice to be able to cut right down the radius line. Honestly, if I eye ball it with chop saw its usually O.K. I just sometimes have to come at it from multiple directions to get it to cut all the way.
