watched the video and read most of the book

The book is ok, but a bit brief on details. The regular Miller TIG book helps reinforce the booklet. The DVD is brief but at least it's a DVD. Even last year they were still including VHS with machines. The guy didn't put any hose clamps on the shielding gas hose either. Is this the way it's done now?

              i like it

i think they put together a nice little starter info packet. coverd the basics and gave you enough to get started in the right direction. the biggest part to learning TIG is really putting time in on the torch. i still think a beginner should invest the $25 in the student packet but the book and video are a great first step. i wish some thing like it had come with my TA-185 when i got it.
              thanks for the help

I just got mine. I watched the DVD and thought it was very well done. I have rented a lot of instructional dvd's and the quality of this one was great! If i had a complaint it would be that the DVD should have gone into the basic joint configurations and how to weld them. I have not read the book yet. I think Miller is on the right track with video idea. They should produce a whole series, a DVD for each of there welders.

i agree 100%. i don't get why they don't ?? many have asked for them with their new Dyn200's. as miller stays on the cutting edge with new teck. coming out, they should keep the old welders up to date on the new options and how they work. as well as the new welders learning at home. it would definitely take a little bit out of the fear of all the options on the Dyn200 for new welders looking to buy.

                          This is my first post.
I thought that Miller's book and DVD were well thought out. I think that the Diversion may well get more people involved with welding on at least a hobby level, and that's a positive thing -IMHO.

a well done dvd gives a good starting point to a new tig welder.
the book is a good referance as well.
can't hardley wait to get me a new tig.
                            Thank you Miller

                              I got mine,

I've been reading it in the bathroom, have not viewed the DVD yet, but I'm learning a lot (brand-newbie welder here, I just bought a Hobart AC/DC stick machine a month or two ago) and I'm intrigued with TIG!

I read the book and watched the video. I thought they were done well. The book is a good intro to tig. It did leave me wanting more but that's just how things are when you're learning. I also agree that a CD with each welder showing setup, theory, actual welding of various joints etc would be great.
                                Thumbs up Miller!
