Hello I'm new but I have read many of the articles posted with advise and new ideas. I have a question on making reels for ground and stinger leads. Can someone show pictures or advice on how these are made to reel in the leads with it still connected to the machine.

Glad to have you with us.

I know I saw a post somewhere that showed how it works. I can't seem to find it here on on the other forums I frequent. I'll try and describe it.

There is a conductive ring ( brass?) that was connected to the cable that you could reel up. The end conected to the machine was conected to a spring loaded shoe that rode on the ring. Sort of like a brake shoe rides against a drum to stop the car, only the positions were reversed. There was a great pict that showed this but I can't locate it at the moment.

Hope this helps. If I can find the pict I'll try and post the link.

You can mess around and try to make your own but if your serious about making money with your welding outfit these are what you need: AlumaReels
While your at it if you need a remote give these guys a call: Weld Alert
But if your not that serious just use wraps and run back and forth to your machine!
