Can anyone tell me what happens to the BWE when the battery quits. Anyone have any problems with them left in the cold? Mine would'nt turn dark when I hit the on off button so I brought it inside and let it warm up. It was only in the 20's last night (tropical for you guys up north). Now it will turn dark when I hit the button but will not darken when I strike an ark. Is this how they act when the batteries quit and it is out of the direct sunlight.

James,

How are you getting out to the shop? Snocat? Snow shoes? Man, NY State is catching it.

acx780,

Try letting some light hit the sensors from an incandescant source and see what happen after a few minutes. My hat is 1-1/2 years old, and I've not had any problems.

Thanks for the replies. I had to leave for Alabama last night but before I left I set it in a place where it is in the light and warmth. Yesterday, I had it in the sunlight/warmth for awhile and it seemed to improve but I had to leave before I could test it. The Miller manual says to warm it up but I would think with all the members in the really cold spots someone else would have had trouble.
