hello everyone my name's ivy... i live in philippines and everyone is crazy about underbone motorcycles... which gives me an idea to open a business on exhaust pipes and mufflers...
my question is, does anyone know how to make or design a bender? i saw one hydraulic press in the gallery... does it bend too? how about mandrel bending? i think this is ideal for exhaust piping... :)
Let me know... your comments are suggestions are welcome

I hope your rich. Agood mandrell bender will cost a lot of money. I would buy prebent elbows and us and hack those to make your pieces.

big money for a bender  and it would be hard to make. you can fill pipe with sand and heat and bend them, don't think i would try exhaust pipe that way though. maybe in a emergence or one time thing, but that would be all.
if you are around any old muffler shops that do car exhaust see if they have any old machines kick around. i found one here for $600 its old but does what i need it for.

You can buy manual benders for less than $1000.00. The do work well although not a true "Mandrel Bend". The dies are what's expensive if you need several sets. An example. http://vansantent.com/model_3_bender.htm
