Thes are the pictures of the truck before it left for Wisc. I am building the boxes that go on top of the bed and sending them to him.

Nice deck, though my only concern is that you won't have field access to the left side of the welder with out pulling it off the deck.

looks good, you can still get to the left side, you just have to go threw the
sliding back window:p I'd put on "Cooper ST's 10 ply tires just incase you come by mud in the field but looks ready to go and make some money. Looks
like a good welding truck, I'll bet you son is a proud son of a gun.;)

Thanks for the kind words.
Yes there is room to reach in and get the oil filter off and check the oil unless you have gorilla arms.
The originall bed is still hanging up in the shop. Not decided what to do with it yet.
We run TOYO 10 ply all terrain tires. they are the only ones we can get any milage out of.
I would like to be there the first time they tie a cat to the frount of it and drag it through the mud.

Thats what I have on my rig(Toyo) real good tires, They can get packed with
mud if you dont pin it to clean out the tread. I would like to try the cooper's
next, but its slow so I dont think I'll need them until fall of 07:(

That looks real good. What year is that, looks like 12valve exhaust? Did the mirrors bolt on? I like the mirrors on it.

Finney, looks real good. Tell him the boys online gave him thumbs up ;)
I run Toyo M-55 tires, they are by far one of the best out there. Very Very tough tire, and great durability. They were designed for the rough off road shale and sharp gravel conditions of the Western Canada access roads for utilities, forestry, oil fields, etc. (At least that's what Toyo says;) ) Not the best in mud, but they hold their own. Put chains on them an go anywhere a mountain goat can go:cool:

Powerstrokingit,
Thats a 98 12 valve, we found it last year in south Tennesse with 61,000 on it. Its a 5speed with all the bells and whistle's.
The mirrors are off a 2000 and they bolt on.

I have the cooper st's they are really good on everything but gravel they chunk like you would not believe and they are pretty pricey. Way better than the generals that came on my truck(9000km 4 leaked through the tread couldn't be repaired.) The old guy that was going to fix my tire said he had never seen anything like that in his 30 + years in the tire industry. We phoned general and said it was a warrenty concern and they said if more than 1/16 of the tread was worn they couldn't help us.So needless to say I will never buy GENERAL TIRES again. Jef
love my kelly safari's but they arent that great on ice though.:o

Admweld,
I got about 50,000 miles out of the last set. What I really like is the side walls have very little flex, there is nothing more hairy than pulling a gooseneck with about 18,000lbs total and going around a curve and watching the rear tires flex in the mirror.
Bad part, they ride rough when empty. I can run over a tumble bug when empty and tell you how many legs he had and which way they were pointed.

I am getting about 40,000miles or 60,000kms to this set of M-55s. They are not as much of a road tire, so don't expect them to wear like a pavement pounder, but, considering that they do not chunk out and are still luggy, they are doing great in my books, especially considering I am running each one at 80-90% of it max rated capacity. They are more of an open lug than the BFG A/Ts so they do much better in loose material like mud and dirt. They do howl a bit on higher speeds like 40mph and up, just sound like a truck tire is all, I kind of like it, just another piece of truck music:o ;)
