Has anyone evere had thier pipe pro 304 not work when it's cold? I started mine tonight to do a job for a friend it fired up and ran fine but no display, and no weld output. I shut it off and started it again and it lit up this is the second time this has happened . It' s cold out but it's only -9c I've ran this machine in -40 before and never had this happen.Could this be causeing it to break arc when capping with 7010p1 downhand? If anyone has any info pm me or post asap It is really starting to p-iss me off. Thanks Jef

Probably dirty slip rings, What your doing is burning the frost off on the first attempt. An error off the rings probably told the XMT not to turn on. The second attempt the frost was gone to no error and off it went. ....... or you have a loose board., probably the latter though, easy fix.

Wicked, when was yours manufactured? I'm wondering if it was one of the earlier units.

Shoot. I was really hoping it was one of the older units. I don't know if its just the ones I hear about that have problems or what, but it sure doesn't seem like the PipePro can be trusted yet as I don't know of a person firsthand that hasn't had problems with theirs:( What's a guy supposed to do when he's a 14 hour drive from a service center:( I feel for ya, hope it gets sorted out without too much trouble.

I think once Miller gets some of these issues nailed down (if they haven't already), it would be in their best ineterest to start offering their PipePros with a 5 year warranty on all electronics and welder / generator parts (except for the engine of course), even if its an optional buy on item for $150. I noticed Lincoln is doing that, seems like a no brainer to me as most of us plan on keeping our machines for quite some time.
