Does anyone have an idea what the NEW Dynasty 350 base machine will sell for? I really like the idea of being able to set the amperage for EN and EP independently of each other when AC welding. The added AC waveforms also look interesting. I have a Dynasty 300DX in pristine condition I am considering selling to upgrade to the 350. But before I let it go it would sure be nice to know what it is going to cost to replace it? My 300dx is a year old and like all the 300dx it is an excellent machine. In the last year I have seen the price on the 300dx base machines rise about 12% to $4575.00 on Ebay. Hopefully the 350 price won't be much higher? Maybe Andy could help out on this one? Also does Miller have a release date set other than sometime in the 1st quarter? Thanks for any info...................! :)

But the tag is heavy$$$. I was looking at the tig runner for a MSRP of $8500 without a torch.

I am new to this sight and have found a ton of great information. I just wanted to share pricing I got on the dynasty 350DX. I ordered one last week through B&R Welder, Tig runner was $6636 plus 450 for the complete torch package, free shipping. Complete package was 546 more than a complete dynasty 300. Miller said lead time was two weeks so I should be getting it in a week.

I was also looking for some initial settings to get me going. I weld a variety of sizes of aluminum, typically .125 up to 1/2". I have never used pulse and was wondering if that is useful for aluminum or .083 wall 4130 which I weld a lot of also and if so what is a good starting point for both.
thanks for a great forum.

Hello,
Kwilde the price from B&R was different when I looked at there web site. It was $7500.00. Did you call? Is this the right web site?http://www.brwelder.com/ I was getting ready to get the 300DX and the 350 comes along and throws a wrench in the works.

I have been down this road before and wanted the no bugs 300DX as it was tried and true and way over my head as a welder anyway. I was spending more than I wanted with it so the decision was easy. I am shopping for a new 07 chevy classic style truck while you can still order one. Same Deal.

John,
I ordered by phone last monday. It was not on their site at that time. They did not even have a price on it yet so they called miller and called me back with the price and I ordered it. I just checked my account and the total charge was 7258 which included the torch kit and 4 gallons of coolant. Sounds like they may have given me a great deal.

Wow, what a price increase! I have to ask myself are the extra features on the 350dx worth another $1000.00 ? The BR welder site lists the 350dx base unit at $5579.00, and the base 300dx unit on Ebay is $4575. I think the value of used 300dx models just went up.

Just 14 months ago in Nov 2005 I purchased a base 300dx at the SEMA show in Las Vegas for $3930.00 with free shipping. Today it sells for $4575.00 from Indiana Oxygen on Ebay. Thats a 16% increase. Now Miller comes out with the 350dx with a price of $5579.00 for the base unit on the BR welder site. THATS A WHOPPING 42% INCREASE over what I paid for my 300dx base unit just 14 months ago. I don't know if Miller is replacing the 300dx with the 350or just adding it to their line up, but if I were Miller I would continue to sell the 300 also. Also the 350dx is not a proven unit like the 300dx is. Early buyers of the 350dx get to be the test monkeys. I think I'll hang on to my 300
for now.

For the most part pulsing on aluminum is not something that I do. The only time that I would recommend pulsing on aluminum is for a newbie who needs a bit of training on when to dip their filler material and get the rhythm of TIG welding (1-2 pps, great for learning). Another of these being autogenous (no filler/ fusion) welding on specific aluminum alloys for a very limited number of applications. As far as welding on 4130, the Dynasty series was born to pulse on 4130, stainless, titanium and all sorts of other materials. General rule of thumb with pulsing: Get to about the amperage range that you want to weld at, play around with the pps until you get the results that are close to what you are looking for, after that, fine tune with your peak time, and bkg A %.

Some of the new features of the Dynasty 350.
-Dynasty 300DX is auto-link, Dynasty 350 is auto line
-has independent amplitudes on AC
-has multiple wave forms(including, adv. Square wave, triangular, soft square wave, and sine wave.
-9 memories instead of 4
-easily accessible hidden menus without power down and power up
-Dyn300 pulses at 500pps max, Dyn350 pulses at 5000pps:eek:
-extended balance control @ 30%-99% EN
-208V-575V single or three phase input power.
-frequency control @ 20hz-400hz (300 tops out at 250)
-auto post flow 1 second of post flow per 10 amps, minimum of 5 sec. post flow

The Dynasty 350 is the exact machine that the 700 is except for 350 amps less output. This thing welds like a dream y’all. Incredible Tig and Stick machine.:D :D :D

Thanks for the input. I was messing around with the pulse on AC with some good results. I was at 200pps 60%bg and 60%pk. I have read on this forum that pulsing on ac is good, it agitates the puddle specifically at higher pulse rates. The frequency adjustment on this machine is a great feature and I already have found good uses for it. I have not played around with the independent amperage ranges for EN and EP yet or the other available wave shapes.

Do you have a starting point for dc pulsing on 4130? I have tried with a pulse rate of 15pps varied the background 50 - 80% but I still prefer not using the pulse, not used to it yet but I dont know if I am even close to where I should be for settings.
I do have to say that this is an incredible machine especially on aluminum and I have not even taken advantage of all of its capabilities.
