Hi All, leave in an hour to pick up my new 210. had a quick question for another 90$ I can upgrade the spool gun to the 3545 (Which from what I understand has a 200 amp cap). Anyway I will be doing some stuff over 1/4 (Very seldomly)but mostly thinner Aluminum. I notice the smallest wire the 2545 will take is .30 while the 3035 that comes standard in the package takes .23. Just wondering if with the bigger gun I will lose some low end ability with the thinner wire.
Thanks

Well, the MM210 runs both .023 and .030 very well. But what will you be using the spoolgun for? I would definitely opt for the bigger spoolgun which will run cooler and be better for the thicker aluminum that you are more likely to do with GMAW. .023 Aluminum wire is out there, but rare. It is far more common to need your spoolgun for thicker aluminum, to within the capabilities of the machine.
You can also do steel and stainless with the spoolgun, with its extra reach, but again, I'd want the top end more, and you always have the standard gun for .023. You can even get a small M-10 gun for that if you want.
