beer trouble in norway

I was just watching the news and I saw this report and cracked up . I know it has nothing to do with raceing or welding but thought you all would get a kick out of it.
A lady in Norway lives above a bar and the plumbers screwed up so when she turned on her faucets she was getting beer and the people in the bar were horrifyed when the were getting water out of the tap.:eek:

now thats what i call a perk, well werth liveing under a bar for.:D i have truble understanding why she would complain.:confused:

some people get all the luck, a beer bath would be fun, and good for your hair.:p

Due to the distinct difference in plumbing between water and beer lines, I think whoever did this almost had to be trying, or was using incorrect materials and just connecting things together at random. Most beer and soft drink plumbing consists of beverage grade plastic hoses and entirely different fittings than what is used for water. Water is usually plumbed in copper or CPVC pipe, even the fittings on hoses to feed an ice machine or other device from the water supply are not the same as those for beer. However I don't know what one might find for plumbing in an old building in Europe. If some incompetent started splicing hoses at random underneath a bar I could understand a slight mixup, but don't know how it would get back fed through water lines and make it upstairs. I have worked on beverage distribution systems more than a few times and did get a good laugh out of this.

In Europe, in the newer buildings, the water fittings are often standard (forget size) compression fittings, same as used on a beer tap.

my gess would be the water lines feed into the first floor at the bar then were routed upstairs to the apartment above, so sending beer up insted of water could be done in the back room where the kegs and incomming water lines were at:eek: . i wonder if the guy that did it got a bill for the beer sent upstairs :p i can just see the accountante trying to figure that one out ,
