Intrested in picking up a tig for eventualy doing cage work on my car and general fab. Def want a ac/dc and was looking at the syncrowave200 runner or a dynasty 200 dx. Looking to hear the good and the bad about each of them. I can't see needing to weld more then .120 4130 for cages in the future so I think this is the range machine I would need correct?

The answers on this are very mixed and I own a D200DX, love it. I would tell you, if you afford the Dynasty get it. On aluminum it will kick the rest to the curb. It will use less enegry in its life than the syncro, by 1/2. So it will in its life cost 1/2 as much to run and in the end it will save more than the difference in cost upfront. Also now about performace it is capable of pulse, and frequency adjustments in an advanced squarewave form that the syncro cant do. Also it is capable of running on 120V, 240V and 3 phase460. It will adjust to what is feeding it and give you the amperage output that is available.

I don't know where you live but we have guys all over the country with these machines and most will show you theirs for you driving to see them. My doors are always open to a guy wanting to learn more. I'll throw on the steaks and you run the tig till you feel like you've seen enough. we'll have a beer and discuss the pos and neg.

Peace,

I gotta agree with paul, I have a 300DX and love it. But, it will depend heavily on your uses. If your main usage is building cages in the shop with occasional aluminum and no need for portability, I might be tempted to go with the Syncro and save some money.

The house is empty, not much furniture, but its dry and warm and the shop is AOK, no losses there. The freezer is full, and the liquer store is open mon-sat. Pretty good bar too!

the dyn200DX is #1 in its class for shoure, only drawback is $$ if ya can swing it get it.
the new syn200 is a sweet package, its only real drawback is size and power needed to feed it 54amps.

Whiever TIG you decide to Pick Up, be sure to get some buddies to help, don't want to hurt your back.

Vodomagoo,

If you just finished setting up your new toy, I'm sure your probably out in the shop right now. After you get a few welds under your belt I'm sure you will learn to really appreciate that new Dynasty. Have fun...
