I've got a MM251 on a 40A breaker...is this correct or should I bump it up to a 50A? I've also got a Hypertherm 380 that I've only run on 110V so far...I'd like to set it up to run 220V. Can I run it on the same breaker as my welder or should I have a seperate plug with a lower amp breaker? Should I get 8ga. or 10ga. for the cord...and is 15ft. too long? Thanx in advance for the help...

The spec sheet calls for 48 amp breaker @200 VOLTS & 42 @ 230 VOLTS.
My reply is if it is not popping & you are not running the machine wide open why change. Here is the manuel copy;

page 19 is where you need to look.

Haven't had a problem yet so I'll stick with what I've got...:D

Now for the other part of my question...my Hypertherm 380 calls for 14A @230V...will I be hurting it by plugging it into a 40A outlet or should I wire up a seperate breaker/plug?

The hyp will work fine from the 40, I would be curious to know what gauge the cord on it is. Even though it works fine I might be tempted to run a custom circuit for it anyway, number 12 wire and a 20A breaker. In my shop it would have its own circuit.

I ran several Lincoln 255's (very similiar to the 251 input wise) for years on 30 amp circuits without a problem...I currently run my Hypertherm 380, Dynasty 200 and AL M200 on a 30 AMP as well....never popped a breaker...
