I know that Miller and Hypertherm have some sort of relationship. Before I bought my Spectrum Cutmate 375 I found out that it was a Miller unit with a Hypertherm torch.
I'm thinking of buying a much larger plasma unit and I am wondering how far this relationship goes.

I think Miller supplies the parts for the power supply of the Powermax 600 and below. Hypertherm supplies the torch, though on a Miller it's just different enough to require specific Miller consumables.

I cant answer your question but I will say this, back in 1994 I bought a Hypotherm MAX 42 that was junk, it ate tips like I eat jelly beans, it was very expensive to operate.
When I bought a new spectrum 2050 I had very low expectations and am amazed how long a new tip will last on the new machine, the difference is approx 10 to 1. I realize technology may have changed in the last 10 years I just diddnt think the new machine would be this good.
