View Full Version : Building a Dance Cage for a club
I bounce at a Night Club/Bar. I have done some metal work for the owner before and he likes my work. I have a couple of projects lined up with the owner already. Anyway, he wants me to build a sort of a cage for a dancer. We made some drawings and I started making the top rail. It is a half cirlce using 2.0 DOM .125" tubing. The "JIG" I used was an old wagon wheel we had laying around (don't ask). Anyway, I heated the tubing up and bent it around the wheel. I do not have a ring roller so to me this was the next best thing.
Here are a couple of pics.

It's nice to see a finished project in use.
I will get pics of the "cage" in use. When the owner and I were making the plans up he wanted me to do a plexi-glass floor but then we decided not too. :D

Maybe you could design the floor to be a removeable peice so If he changes his mind later he could do it. For some extra work maybe you could talk him int 3 interchangable floors , solid , glass and a trampaline.

I think you should try that plexi floor idea at least for the photo you'll be taking  :D

ok the trampaline options is funny .... :D
I like the wagon wheel. The pictures certainly give a new meaning to DOM.
You sometimes need to consider the gender of the participants of this 'cage' before you start requesting pictures. "Dance clubs" come in many differnt flavors...I'm just saying

With it being TJ posting I'll risk it bring on the pics, scantilly clad but tasteful, it is a family oriented board. I also agree with HAWK nice mandrel bender.
