I have an nearly new Miller Spectrum 375 plasma cutter; frequently when using this machine it will activate the torch for about 3 seconds after closing the trigger - then stop with the "Power" LED flashing. This happens when first using the machine for the day, so it's not duty cycle related.

Cycling the power switch resets the machine and then the whole cycle repeats itself. This machine is on a dedicated 30 Amp Circuit breaker measured at 243 volts at the outlet. The operating power switch is set to 230V. It would appear incoming power is within the allowable range of 194-276 volts.

I've turned off all the big power consumers in the house to be sure they were not pulling from available power.

Any one have any experience with this problem? This is becoming very frustrating :(
Am I destined to take this in for service?

Sounds like your input (primary) cables are loose or damaged in your plug or machine

Which position is the "changeover switch" in, 115 volt or 230 volt? The switch is on the back of the machine. You need to use a screwdriver or something to change its position.

The "changeover switch" is set for 230 volts as it should be. I will have to check the power cable terminations as Cruizer suggested.

Thanks
