A few months ago (with your advice) I purchased a Dynasty 200 DX and though I havent much time on it, it seems to perform flawless.
A friend of mine is looking to start tig welding but cant afford the 200 DX. He asked me if the econotig would weld DOM 150 or 160 wall, I told him I'd ask here. He also would like to do some sheetmetal work. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

The econo tig is rated at 150 amps at 20% duty cycle so it should do it but it is going to have limited run time.
Peace,
Chopper,
As PJ mentioned it will be very hard on the econtig to keep up with .150" DOM or other tubing in that thickness. I don't know your friend's budget so he might look at a Maxstar 150 STL (http://millerwelds.com/products/tig/maxstar_150_stl/) "Lift Arc" only DC GTAW machine capable of 150 amps max at about a 35% duty cycle. This may still be slightly underpowered, but more in line with a tight budget. Next the Syncrowave 180 (http://millerwelds.com/products/tig/syncrowave_180_sd/) capable of 150 amps at 40% and a 180 amps top end and then the Maxstar 200 (http://millerwelds.com/products/tig/maxstar_200/) with 200 amps of TIG ouput at 40% duty cycle would be the machines to look into. The Maxstar can be had with pulsing functions in the DX model.
