http://http://i462.photobucket.com/albums/qq343/JTFrick/100_0458.jpgWell new for me anyway. Been looking on Craigslist lately, found me a Miller Thunderbolt 300/200, its 1 year old, looks brand new. The guy gave me a cheap auto-dark hood and some gloves, also met me halfway for $500 bucks.I was really wanting me a MM 252, cause a lot of the stuff I weld is 1/2 inch to 3/4 only because I have access to scrap plate at work. I hope the little TB will handle this and I will get me the new MM 211 for the smaller things. Love this site, you guys really know your stuff. I dont post much cause I usually can read through the threads and find a answer. Take care all.

I made the table at work about 6 months after my shop was built, that was 4 years ago and I had been planning on getting me a welder then. Just now got it. The table top is 4'x8'x3/8s" thick, the legs are3"x8"x1/2" rect. tubing left over from a screen deck. there is 3"x1/4" angle under the table running lengthwise and across the ends.Yes I have to get those corners rounded off, my grandson loves to play out in the shop, and his head is about 4" below the table now. Please give me any ideas on things I could do to it. Thanks again.:)

Nice machine. Its a good knotch above a buzzer sized machine, a guy can run a 5/32 lo hi on it.

Yes, I will give some setup advice, in that garage I would run a wire and mount the machine out of the way as near the door as I could and get enough lead to reach anywhere in the shop. Get a feeder for all the inside work I could. I would scrounge up some wire and run a circuit 8's or better yet 6 depending on what wire I could find with a 60A breaker right where I wanted to park it.

Sberry, when the shop was built I had it wired for a welder then.Right behind where this pic was took, he ran #6 wire to a 60a breaker. Only the garage door is at the opposite end from my welder. I will need me some ventilation down where I will be at.M.K. swelding, lack of $$$$, I have access to many types of stick welders at work, and like I said in an earlier post, I really wanted a 252 in my shop. Just didnt have that kind of money now. Maybe one day. Thanks fellows.:)

Well, if he's like most kids that height, give it a day or two and he will be 6" taller. Then you will have to worry about putting your tools up on the top shelf instead of the middle one. If he's going to be out there (and he will) and you can't watch him every second (which you can't), I would say silicone some old heater hose to it temporarily. Kind of an inconvenience for you, but like I said, a month goes by the kid will be a head over it.

Speaking of hazards, I notice the shop is full of exposed Kraft-faced insulation. This is fire hazard generally speaking, but in a welding shop it is an extreme fire hazard.

The paper face will burn if is left exposed. And while you're welding away under the hood it can get burning very good before you notice.

In applications where the facing is not in contact with a building material, fire retardant facing should be used. Otherwise, it should be covered with drywall, and in a garage or welding shop, I'd recommend fire rated (5/8") drywall.

Thanks Bodybagger. The table was in the corner to the right of where this pic was taken and I moved it to here. Thats another thing I been trying to get done, is drywall put up. A buddy of mine thinks he can get ahold of about 70 sheets of 4'x12' 5/8s drywall. If I also could get him to help me put it up.:D
