I have a Century 90/110 Amp 110 Volt MIG welder that I use in my home shop.
I want to move up to something that will do up to 5/16.
Is the Millermatic 180 up to the challenge for infrequent use.
I mainly do truck and utility trailers.

The smallest I would use would be a HH210 for that but I would say a MM212 may be a bit better for you. Duty cycle at that thickness could be a factor unless you go with enuff power.
Others may chime in with better answers for you:D

I use my MM180 all the time on 3/8's stuff, I build custom items for Jeeps and serious offroad stuff. The duty cycle will be an issue only if you weld for a long time each time. I have seldom ever had an issue with duty cycle and if I do I have a cup of coffee. Now, If you're a big production shop then I agree with the above post.
