Nope, the miller uses a "special" potentiometer. Changed lots of Lincolns to Millers though. Thats easy

Cruiser , Tell me more . I have a Lincoln pedal that I'd love to use on my Miller xmt304 .

Cruizer , my pedal is a Lincoln K870 Amptrol Assy. L8118-4 S606 . It sure would be sweet if I could make it work on my xmt304 .Thanks for any advice .

You just need a 1K 2W long shaft potentiometer and a 20-27 amphenol if yours has a 14 pin. 5 pin is just a 5pin 18 series amphenol, really all you need is the 5 pin insert as the 6 pin Lincoln is a 18 series already.

Pop the case apart with the 2 pins, after that its just a allen key holding the shaft into place, and there is a wiring diagram inside the foot pedal with the colours and codings of the wires

lincoln miller 5 & 14 pin
A C
B E
C D

the 2 going to the relay got to A& B on the Miller

Arc Zone has their own replacement foot controls. They show a 2K pot for Miller and a 10K pot for Lincoln. There is also a 6 pin Amphenol connector for Lincoln that uses 5 pins. The connector for Miller is the large 14 plastic connector that uses 5 pins also.

So all you would have to do to change back and forth would be to obtain the proper connector and potentiometer and do a little soldering. Both designs use the same two 4700 uf, 3KV capacitors which are critical.

The parts list and schematics for each type are on the second page of the link below.

I had a Lincoln 250 TIG that I traded in on my present Sycrowave 200. The only thing I regret is letting my nice Lincoln all-steel foot pedal go with the Lincoln. The plastic one that came with the Miller is not as good as the Lincoln pedal, IMHO.

The only thing that bothers me about the connectors is that the lowest prioce I've seen on either of them is about $38.00 and I think that's rather high. JMO, however.

Nevermind, got off track.

Realistically I can send a solder type military type amphenol, the wiring diagram conversion and a new pot for $40 anywhere any time.

Millers do use a 1K pot, a 2K I suppose as its just a voltage divider though you'll probably loose some bottom end

Since both the Lincoln and Miller use the same caps, you don't need anymore of those...

I had to pay just over $100 for an avionics grade amphenol- twice.
I feel your pain.

Avionic grades of Amphenols are really expensive, actually anything to do with Aircraft parts is really expensive. I'm a Aircraft Maintenance Enginneer by trade, but repairing welders makes somewhat more $$

I've got one of those 'Hot Foot' HUGE steel foot pedals. I really prefer the plastic ones from Miller.

What is it you don't like about the Lincoln?
