My bud needed some help on his Rv- They are installing a Shelf/table that will sit in front of a Mirror. The Rvs are used for Photo Shoots and the back is a Make-Up/ Dressing Room area.

Most of his clients are shooting small editorial stuff and they usually do not have big budgets for a Bigger/Fancier Rv.

He made the Shelf but didn't feel confident enough to weld it to the existing Rv framing.

I wanted to see if a Honda 2000eu would run the Passport- Nope

but with paralleling 2 Honda 2000s it worked like a champ

there are 2 ways to parallel the gensets:

In the Pic it is a simple banana plug set up that allows 20amps from ONE or the other genset.

1- 2000w is 13 amps rated and would run my Lincoln 135 Plus

The other way is a kit that provides an External 30amp RV outlet as dual 2000s are popular with Rvers.

But when I need more power I just use this puppy:)

Hi Ed...this is great, I was wondering about this very same thing...so, let me understand this correctly, you powered your Passport Plus with 2 EU2000 generators with the standard parrallel kit that provides the single 20 amp circuit operating at 110 volts. So you are saying that the aftermarket kit that provides the 30 amp circuit is not neccessary. Your EU 6500 provides ample power to operate the Passport Plus at 220 volts I'm asssuming. I'd like to get a generator also to power my Passport Plus and the appeal of the EU2000 for the portability and convenience is great but the minimal power they provide is not great. I would also like to upgrade to a larger EU generator but the costs of those Hondas is overwhelming when any other comparable generator can be had for half the cost or less. I'd like to able to weld standard 2" -3" angle iron with the generator set up, do you think it would work OK with the EU2000?

Gary,

Yes, just the basic parallel Kit.

I can run some test pieces if ya want on the Angle iron just tell me the thickness.

... but like ya know they are $$$ and you will need two.

Unless you need something quiet I don't know if I would spend the money on a Honda Inverter.

These have been getting pretty good reviews and are way cheaper and seem to be the least noisy of the regular gensets.

I think the 40010 is about 100lbs and will supply 30amps 120v

I have 2 of the honda eu2000i with the 30amp kit and love it!! just to try it out i hooked them up and got out the dynasty200dx and did some alum tig, could do 1/8" and 3/16 with no prob! 1/4" poss but have to hold it on it for awhile.... the hondas are mostly used for the camper though...quiet!! clean!!
