I went searching for some Ni99 Nickel TIG filler rod today in town. Airgas was the only one with any on hand. Their price was $76.00 / lb. ! Is this normal pricing on this type of filler? I searched the net for pricing and saw Inweld listed their Ni99 for about $22 / lb. Quite a difference, but I'm not sure if the Inweld price lists are up to date.
I know the price of Nickel has risen lately, but has it been drastic enough to cause the price to almost quadruple? Or is Airgas just price gouging on an uncommonly used filler? That was for 1/8" dia... I would really like to get some 1/16" or 3/32" dia.

McMaster is ~$75/# also. I'll bet that those are old prices on the Inweld site.

Thanks for the reply, I didnt even think to look at McMasterCarr...
McMasters $75 price is for a 5 lb. package. They have 1 lb. packages for ~$37 it says. Airgas wanted over $400 for a 5 lb package  What is that all about  That cant be right... Im starting to think the desk jockey thought the $76 was the 1 lb price and then multiplied it by 5.
Unless I can find it cheaper online I'll order from MMC... Thanks.

That's what I thought too - Look again. The prices/packaging for CuSi are different from the other alloys.
The first column is for 1/2 pound, the second column is for 1 pound, and the next line down shows the price for a 5 pound package.
