Hi all
I've been lurking off & on for a while, lots of knowledge here.
I recently bought a Miller Wildcat 225G (made in the late 80's looks just like a Bobcat) used but in good condition. I used it on a few jobs & it worked great.
Yesterday I attempted to to use a carbon arc torch with it, but couldn't maintain an arc. I had jury-rigged the connection to the torch, so I assumed I had a bad connection & used the oxy-acetylene to cut the old coupler off. I used the Wildcat as a generator to grind the residue off & the grinder had good power. When I attempted to weld the new coupler on however, I again had very low output. I checked all the connections, & tried changing polarity & amp settings, but it acted like I was trying to weld with the amps set very low. I'll call Miller & see if they can suggest anything Tuesday, I just wondered if any of you could suggest anything quick & easy to try tomorrow.

Before you bother Miller, read the T-shooting section of your owners manual

I did read it, I even tried all the suggestions from the manual. No Joy.
